Time Keeper

Victoria Guidelines

(Draft)

Responsibilities

- Key responsibility is to make sure meeting ends on time
- Secondary responsibility is to give feedback to role players regarding time management

Note: Consider getting your role to be evaluated as part of the Competent Leader (CL) track.  If you opt to make it part of the CL track (you may as well!), then speak to Karen Chow.  Make sure the Easy-Speak portal registers your CL role, and bring your CL manual to the meeting for evaluation.

Before meeting starts

- Make sure you have and are familiar with all tools needed: Time cards, stop watch, and bell

- Sit at the last row, beside the aisle

During meeting

- Introduce your role when called.  Treat it like a mini-speech (have opening, body, conclusion).

- Shake hands with the TME after you finish

- Raise the green, amber, and red cards according to what is indicated on Agenda

- ONLY START TIMING WHEN the speaker has started the speech (by speaking, or gesturing).  Prelimary comments or small-talk with TME does not count if it's clearly not part of the speech.

- Keep cards help up until you are SURE speaker has seen it. If any doubt, keep holding!

- Ring bell at every 15 seconds past red card

Time Reporting - Suggestions

- Talk about overall time management
- Then about individual speakers. Cover everyone.
- Group results if appropriate
- Shake hands with the TME after you finish
